Metioch is the god of order, systems, and rulership. His faithful understand the value of stability and structure, and have a strong awareness of the difference between fair and equal. Adherents to Metioch count themselves as members of the Church of the Shapers, the institution of worship for both Garioch and Metioch. All but the most extreme adherents of Metioch understand the value of the work of Garioch’s faithful, and many try to do the work of both. The Church of the Shapers breaks but rebuilds, changes but stabilizes, and introduces but then allows for assimilation. Their combined purviews allow for an enormous rate of progress for whatever cause they focus their attention on.
The faithful of Metioch include bureaucrats, writers, politicians, administrators, tradesmen, and crafters. They are often brilliant, analytical minds with a talent for seeing the big picture. They are able to detect and influence systems of all sizes, from the most bureaucratic governments to the order in which dishes are most efficiently washed. They often carry a reputation of being calculating, rigid, or both, but in reality the followers of Metioch are widely varied in temperament, approach, and interests.
Metioch was revealed to the world on November 17, 1217. Although he was merely sleeping, the recorded world had no record of him prior to this date, so much is still unknown.
